We’re very happy to share that the RhodesLab is hiring a postdoctoral researcher to join us in St Andrews.

The postholder will play a central role in the RhodesLab, to research the mechanisms behind unconventional superconductors and other correlated electron states in real quantum materials, working across many-body theory, electronic structure simulation, and collaboration with experimental partners.
Specifically, the postholder will be applying functional renormalisation group theory approaches to make material-specific predictions for the ground state of correlated quantum materials and use these new theoretical tools, as well as their own expert insight, to interpret and guide future experiments in cutting edge correlated quantum materials research.
We’re keen to hear from candidates with a background in theoretical condensed matter physics particularly those interested in correlated electron physics, many-body methods, and those who have worked at the interface between theory and experiment.
Full details and application instructions are available via the official University of St Andrews advert (Research Fellow – AR3225). If you’re interested but unsure whether your background is a good fit, please feel free to get in touch with Luke Rhodes ([email protected]) who is more than happy to chat.
The deadline for this position is 31st of January 2026.
